Diva Docs Event: Media Relations 101

Amy is director of media relations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the largest private health plan in Massachusetts and one of the largest independent, not-for-profit Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans in the country.

In her role, Amy is responsible for public relations strategy, proactive and reactive media relations, strategic messaging, executive thought leadership, media training, and crisis management.

Before joining Blue Cross in 2017, Amy was a senior vice president at a Boston-based public relations firm, providing strategic counsel and executive media training for a range of clients in health care and professional services and consistently placing clients in top-tier national and regional media including the Today show, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe.

Prior to her career in public relations, Amy spent more than a decade as a journalist at network affiliates throughout New England, including ABC and CBS stations in Rhode Island and Maine, where she covered politics, health, and breaking news, and her work was honored by the Associated Press.

Amy graduated from Boston University with a bachelor of science degree in journalism.
